Raid and enforcement support

Seizures and cases supported by evidence that holds up in court, from pre-raid verification to post-raid follow-up.

The service

Working with police and counsel on raids, seizures and evidence that holds up.

03.3 · Enforce

A raid succeeds or fails on preparation. If the premises are wrong, the stock has moved or the paperwork is incomplete, the case weakens before it starts.

We verify premises and stock shortly before action, coordinate with police and counsel, and support on site with seizure documentation: inventories, photographs, video and witness details. After the raid we track the case and support the evidence the prosecution or civil court needs.

Each route has its own formalities. Before a police search for trade-mark offences, the Trade Marks Act requires the opinion of the Registrar. In civil suits, courts can appoint a local commissioner to seize goods. We prepare the evidence each route requires.

When you need it

  • 03Earlier raids recovered little stock or the cases collapsed.
  • 04Police need evidence and product expertise to act.
  • 05Leadership wants to see the outcomes of enforcement.

FAQs

Questions clients ask before we start.

Who conducts the raid?

The police in criminal cases, or a court-appointed local commissioner in civil cases. BDI supports with verification, product identification and documentation, alongside your counsel.

Why do some raids fail?

Usually because targets were not verified close to the date, legal formalities were incomplete or the seizure was poorly documented. Preparation addresses each of these.

Do you support the case after the raid?

Yes. We track the case and support the evidence required at each stage, from the charge sheet or plaint to hearings.
