Online and marketplace monitoring

Fewer infringing listings, sellers, pages and domains, and a record of every takedown and every re-listing.

The service

Detection and takedown of infringing listings, sellers, social pages and domains.

03.1 · Detect & verify

Counterfeit and infringing goods now sell through marketplaces, social commerce, messaging groups and look-alike websites. A listing removed today can reappear tomorrow under a new seller name.

We monitor marketplaces and social channels for your brands and products, score listings by risk and profile sellers so that repeat offenders are linked across names and platforms. High-risk listings become test purchases where verification is needed, and takedown notices are filed and escalated through each platform's process.

Reporting shows what was found, what was removed and what came back, so the programme can focus on the sellers and channels that matter. Where IP Octopus is in use, every finding and takedown sits in one record with the rest of your enforcement.

When you need it

Infringing listings, sellers and social pages are selling your brand online.

Signs we see most often

  • 01Your products are sold online below your distributor price.
  • 02Sellers use your marks, product images or brand names without authorisation.
  • 03Social pages or messaging groups offer your brand's products in bulk.
  • 04Takedowns are done ad hoc, with no record of re-listing.
  • 05Customers complain about products they bought online.

FAQs

Questions clients ask before we start.

Which platforms do you monitor?

The marketplaces, social channels and sites where your products are sold or promoted, agreed with you at the start and reviewed as sellers move.

Do takedowns stop the problem?

Not on their own. Takedowns reduce visible infringement, but persistent sellers need to be traced to their source and dealt with through enforcement. Monitoring shows which sellers justify that step.

How quickly do platforms act?

Response times vary by platform and by the evidence provided. Complete notices with clear proof of rights and infringement are acted on faster, and we track each one to closure.
